Becoming a Signatory

Joining The Code as a Signatory means you have made a commitment to work with others, to understand what works and inspire more and more diverse young people into engineering and technology.

Benefits to joining

When joining The Code you'll get access to resources to help you start delivering engineering and tech outreach to young people, or to improve your existing approach and programmes. This includes:

A team at EngineeringUK to help you understand The Code and how to start meeting the pledges
Access to Tomorrow’s Engineers, which has guidance and information from across the STEM community on how to get the most from engineering engagement activity
Regular drop-ins with the Code Team and other Signatories
Online workshops on topics to help you meet the pledges and meet other likeminded organisations
Hundreds of Signatories and Supporters from whom your organisation can learn, share ideas with and access practical advice through Code Connect

What we'll ask of you

It's free to be part of the Code community, but we ask Signatories to:

Track your work against the pledges and respond to the check-in once a year
All Signatories are required to complete the annual check-in, letting us know how you're working towards the 4 pledges. This helps us track our collective progress as a community and is an opportunity for you to reflect on and highlight the work you've done over the past year. Completion of the check-in also affirms your continued commitment to The Code.

Be an active member of the community
As well as attending webinars, online drop-ins and in-person events, this could mean working with others in a group of like-minded Signatories, or partner with another organisation. Perhaps you could support other Code Signatories who are earlier in their outreach journey. You'll be able to find and link up with people via the LinkedIn group or Code Connect. It may also mean sharing your insights and activities with the sector. You can feature your activities on Neon, and target schools you can deliver to.

We ask that you use the resources on EngineeringUK and this website to encourage others in your networks, partner organisations or in your supply chains to also join the Code community.

What next?

If you’re ready to join The Tomorrow's Engineers Code, you’ll need to have this information ready:

A person who'll be ultimately responsible for The Code in your organisation who will officially 'sign' The Code
If necessary, an alternative contact who'll be the day to day contact, responsible for embedding the pledges in your organisation
